on 8/2/2008 What is the PSA some kind of strong-arming union? If this guy wants to make a video about how to do backward crossovers why shouldn't he? I can understand him just fine and I didn't have to drive to Florida to get a lesson. Instead I can watch for 2 minutes and then go practice by myself. And he puts a little ad in for his rink, fair enough.

on 8/2/2008 Why you are saying that this guy is no good?! First of all, before judging his English, you should have at least some intelligence and don't say: "this guy", because "this guy" has a name, and his name is Mr. Olympiev. Secondly, you can't judge this coach just by looking at these video clips. All these video clips helped my cousin, and helped a lot, even her coach were so surprised. I want to thank you Mr. Olympiev for sharing these lessons with other people, and your English is excellent, you explaining very clear and very professional. Thank you so much!

Video Transcript

"Hello my name is Dmitri Olympiev and I teach at Pines Ice Arena in Pembroke, Florida. You can reach us on the web at www.www.pinesicearena.com. Now this time I’m going to show you how to do backwards crossovers. This exercise teaches us how to move backwards on the ice around the circle. I’m going to put my arms, twisted again they’re not straight, I’m going to bend my knees, make a swizzle keep my foot up, cross. See it. Swizzle, up, cross. When I skate backwards, I always look backwards to the inside of the circle, this way I can see where I’m going better. Now one thing to keep in mind is when you start learning this you have to get the cross, for that, you must pick your foot up and then down. Now later on the crossover becomes more advanced, you don’t have to pick your foot up anymore. We’ll be right back. "
