"Hi, my name is Debbie, and this clip will be about how to operate your quick release wheels. Today’s bikes all come with what’s called quick release. It has a lever, and you spin it loose. Most often, you remove your front wheel so you can put your bicycle on your vehicle. When you go to put your wheel back on, it’s important that you put it on securely and correctly so that while you’re riding it doesn’t come loose and cause you to have a serious accident. The way I put my wheel on, and this particular wheel has disc brakes, is to lift up the bike and attempt to line up the brake with the slot that it goes in and then drop the fork into the axle. With quick release the one thing you don’t want to do is just spin it till it’s tight. The way a quick release is designed is you have it on securely, hold the side without the lever and spin the lever side till it starts to get snug. You want the lever, when you put it up in the locked position, to go in firmly, but not so tight that you can’t get it undone, but so that it stays secure. "
