"Hi this is David Duke. Welcome to Expert Village. In this clip I'm going to talk about how to set up a glider. Now I just want to give you a word of caution this video is definitely not designed to substitute for professional instruction. Professional instruction is easy to obtain and we're all eager to show you how to get into this wonderful sport. But here's our glider here the wind is coming into my face, so I've laid it out perpendicular to the wind so that when I bring it out the wings will be basically crossing to the wind. The first thing we do is unzip it and put together the base tube and the big round training wheels that are great for the dunes and are great for learning in this nice soft sand we have here. What we've done here is we've taking out the down tubes or the uprights. The glider is now upside on it's back. This is the control frame this triangle here. These are the down tubes we'll be flying from the other direction. And this is what's called the base tube. Most of our flying is done from here. I just drive it like kind of like you're steering a shopping cart. These are the big training wheels. If you come down on it these roll and they roll excellently on the sand. The next step is to flip it over, spread the wings. This is the nose wire which I've attached here. When you spread out the wings you want the wind coming over the back. Because if the wind comes into the nose, it's going to flip over backwards."
