"Hi! This is David Dirks, managing director of Dirks Outdoors, on behalf of Expert Village. Today we are going to talk about fly fishing basics. Now once you understand the discipline of being able to cast at 10:00 and 2:00 and then develop a rhythm, a natural fly line rhythm that allows that line to back cast unload that line and then go forward, the next thing is to make sure that you are accurate. The basic thing can tell you about that is wherever that rod tip is pointing to whenever you are go on a forward cast, that pretty much is where that fly is going to land. So you can be very accurate with a fly rod. I've seen many cases where a fly angler was able to put a fly exactly where he or she wanted to with tremendous accuracy. It comes over time and practice. Wherever your rod tip is, whatever it points to, that is generally where that fly is going to go."
