" Hi! I’m David Anderson for Expert Village helping you with your golf game. We are here at the beautiful Golf Club at Star Ranch just outside of Austin, Texas showing you some different techniques on chipping, how to get the ball close to the hole depending up on the lie. A lot of times you will find the ball. Once you get up to the green hugging the rough it is on the fringe but you have no area behind the ball to get the putter blade on the ball so what you do is either take a driver or you’ll take a lofted club like this and try to catch the ball right on the edge. Keep the ball low but you will get it out of the fringe. It’s almost like a putt but you are using the blade of a lofted club and in my case, I have a sand wedge. You get no loft but you do get it away from the fringe, the heavy fringe. You get it out of the heavy rough. "
