"DAVE TYLER: We can score baskets in two different ways. On most floors, we have a three-point basket and a two-point basket. As you can see, as we're going to show you in a minute, we have the three-point ring. The proper mechanic for a three is for the official to go up with one hand on the shot then if the basket is successful he'd go with two hands. Also using the three fingers to show the audience that is a three point basket. The baseline official would then--what we call echo that. As the lead official, I'd go up with the three, and then the other official could echo that and show it as well. So here we have our players getting ready to shoot a three, catches the ball, both feet are behind the line, shoots the ball and it goes through the basket that would be a successful three. If however the player has any part of his foot on the line on the shot, in this case, we'd have a two-point basket upon completion of the shot and through the net. So two's or three's, the official has to be observant on where the shooter's feet are located. That would be a two. Here, we have a three."
