"DAVE TYLER: Okay. One of the first violations we have with the dribbler with the basketball would be called palming. This is a violation that occurs when the dribbler is dribbling the ball and he turns and gets his hand underneath the ball--would be underneath the ball. That would be palming. The proper mechanic would be: blow your whistle, stop the clock and then let everybody see that the proper mechanic will be that the dribbler was palming the ball. We're going to take a look now at an actual palm during a game. Here we go. Notice that the dribbler's hand is underneath the basketball and he turns it all the way over."

on 1/24/2009 More rehearsal time is needed on these videos. There are several errors, but the most common one seems to be the raised arm clenched fist move for a violation. The proper mechanic is an open hand. The over and back vid was also confusing and poorly executed. One last sentence is in order for the hesitant, broken speech-pattern. Rehearse rehearse rehearse.
