" Hi! I am Dave Shelton explaining Frisbees for Expert Village.com. Now we are going to get into the catching part of Frisbee, just as important as the throwing and if you do not do it correctly, you are going to drop the Frisbee and in competition that is deadly, but in the meanwhile it is not that hard and we are going to show you the basics. The technique is pretty much similar to anything else in sports when you are catching the ball, whether it is football or baseball or even basketball. You want to catch it with two hands. It is the safest way and the safest way of making sure you do not drop it and it is very easy as you saw me doing it before. Let me throw it and catch it back and I will show you how. You want to keep your hands parallel to the ground. If you try catching the Frisbee to the side you are going to drop it and it is not going to be secured. If the Frisbee is thrown parallel to the ground, so you want to get your hands parallel as well and it is going to be a swatting down just like you would a fly and then you bring it into your body. Just like football, just like basketball, it is very important that you maintain your hands above and below it or else you will drop it. Let us try it again. It is the same whether you go up or down. If you have to reach for it, you do the same thing. We get into some of the other catches where you can catch with one hand, but your basic and safest catch is when you use two hands just like this. Try it one more time, see and the other important thing is remember once you catch it, just bring it in, just like you would a football, just like you would in basketball, just so that you do not lose it, because when you catch it, you want to bring it in and make sure it is secure. That is your basic two handed catch and there it is. "
