on 10/29/2008 Why should there be a "correct way" to do it...
There is no correct or even better technique, there are just different ways of defending against a certain atack!! Tell your cousin to teach you to open your mind, no offense...

on 8/12/2008 I agree. when someone is choking you from the front, you DONT want to pull down! instead, you grab the attacker by the wrist and push out, followed by a knee into the groin. i learned that from my cousin which is in the Marine Corps.

on 8/2/2008 that's not the correct way to do that. I could easily push forward with a knee to the ribs or side of the knee itself.

Video Transcript

"Hi my name is Darren Buckner from Darren Buckner’s Martial Arts in Miami Beach, Florida. At this time I want to show you techniques from a system called krav-maga. This technique I am about to illustrate is called choke with a push. As you are falling backwards, your motion is going to be stopped with your back foot. Once your motion has stopped, you will walk ahead and tuck your chin. As you tuck your chin, you bring your arm up straight in the air to the side; bring your arm and elbows down past the elbow. As you do so, you will hit the target with a level strike. "
