Skateboarding is an art to some, and an extreme sport to others. And in the case of the hardflip, a combination of both. Watch this series of videos and you will see a gymnast in action as well as track star and a skater. For this is one trick that utilizes all of those skills. It's not called a hard flip for nothing. You jump straight up, flipping the board underneath you. And then you land back on top of it. Wow.

Once you can pull off the basics of this trick, Darin shows you how to change it up, doing a 180 hardflip, a fakie hardflip and a hardflip down a curb. "What's up you all? My name is Darin Carter on behalf of Expert Village. I'm going to show you today how to do a hardflip on a skateboard. Today I'm going to show you some tips and techniques on how to position your feet on the skateboard, how to start off pushing, and how to balance yourself. We're going to talk about the pivot points on the concave, how we can slide your foot up, make sure the board catches in air, show you how to do the flips on the board, make sure it stays underneath you, catching it in air, landing it, and riding away. We'll learn these tricks today called a hardflip. We're going to learn how to convert this hardflip into many other tricks also known as front side flip or a fakey front flip, which is also named as a 180 hardflip. We're going to learn how we can position these into a run so we can do these back to back. So in these next couple of clips I'm going to show you how we can do this hardflip."
