" Hi my name is Dan and I'm here with Expert Village. Today I'm going to show how to make a slippery hitch oar lashing. Which is useful for tying oars in this case or piles of twigs together is you are building a fire. It has numerous application those are just a few. Start out by making a fixed loop in your line. A simple overhand knot on a bight is the simples method. Next gather what you want to lash together. Feed your line underneath and around your pile. Go through your fixed loop, tighten, then make what some people look like a figure four now you lash your pile together. It is a slippery hitch because with one quick pull the bundle comes untie. I can tie it one more time. Go around your bundle, through the loop, tighten, make the figure four, it is not a incredible strong knot but by simply tucking your tail through your loop if you pull on it it only serves to strengthening the knot. So that is the slippery hitch oar lashing."
