" Hi my name is Dan and I'm here with Expert Village. Today I'm going to show how to tie a bowline which is an excellent knot to know in just about any circumstance that you need a fixed loop tied around something that is able to bear a heavy load but yet be untied quickly. Take your line and feed around an object, bring the tail end and cross it over the line and twist it in towards you making a loop. Feed your tail end around and behind the none working end of your line and then follow it back through and that is the bowline. I will tie it one more time. Go around your object, cross over and twist in and towards you, take your tail go underneath and trace itself back through. As I said before this is a very strong knot and is able to take a great load. When you want to untie it you do what is called breaking the back you just pull the loop and the whole knot will come untie. That is called the bowline."
