" Hi! My name is Dan, and I’m here with Expert Village to talk to you about how to make a zeppelin bend. A bend is any knot that’s used to tie two ropes together; a zeppelin bend is initially used to tie the zeppelins up that were used to mark location of ships in War World II. To tie the zeppelin bend, you want to make one loop out of one piece of rope, with the tail hanging down; another loop, another piece of rope with the tail going up. Match them together, feed one tail around and up, and the other end around and down. It’s a very symmetrical knot, and it’s also very strong. I’ll demonstrate tying it one more time…so one loop with the tail hanging down, another loop with the tail facing up, feed that tail up, the other end down… the zeppelin bend."
