" Hi! My name is Dan, and I’m here with Expert Village to talk about how to tie a sheet bend. A bend is any knot that’s used to tie two ropes together; the sheet bend is especially good for tying two ropes of different diameters together. What you want to do is take a bite or a bend in one rope, feed the other piece up through facing you, wrap around and away from your body, and come back in towards yourself, and then feed through and do that again. Take a bite, feed it through, wrap away from you and back around and through. If you need a little more security from your sheet bend—it’s going to be on an anchor line—you can tie the double sheet bend, which is just like single sheet bend except that you make two loops. This knot is slightly more secure; after a long night with your boat tied at the anchor it won’t come undone."
