" Hi! My name is Dan, and I am here with Expert Village to talk to you about one more important piece of climbing safety. It is not exactly a piece of gear, but you want to know who you are climbing with, whether it is with a partner or with yourself. If you are with yourself, you want to be sure that you utilize as many safety options as possible, and also that you are aware of your own physical capabilities—if you are getting tired and know that you should stop climbing, or that you should eat or drink something. If you are climbing with a partner, it is excellent to know their climbing experience, and maybe test it out while bouldering, before you actually get up on the rocks. You would not want to climb with someone who you wouldn’t trust with your life, so it is very important to know who you are climbing with. "
