" Hi name is Dan and I'm here with Expert Village today to show you how to tie the slippery hitch. It is a very basic knot but have a merit of applications. I'll show you one application to tie a number of tent poles or a down twigs together for you camp fire. So the basic slippery hitch you'll make a loop and then feed another loop through it. For all the intent purposes it is half of the knot you tie when tie your shoe lace. So if this one end of your shoe lace you can pull it and it disappear and that is why it is called the slippery hitch. Any knot you can pull out is called the slipped knot. So now I can show you how you can apply it to tyeing a number of pole together. Make a loop in one end of your line. A simple overhand loop would do. Gather you items. Pass you line around and under them, go through the loop that you just created, and know tie your slippery hitch. So make you loop, and you next loop you go up and through them. Now you tied this together and if your where to untie them quickly simply pull on the end. However if you want to be able to carry them by the tail end of you line tie simply as before. When you have your slippery loop, feed your tail in through it, and now you have the slippery hitch that is made fast."
