" Hi! My name is Dan and I’m here with Expert Village. Right now we’re going to talk about campfire management. While managing your fire, you want to look for a few things. You want to make sure that your fire is staying within the ring or the fire area that you’ve designated. Again, using a leather glove to feed and move around your coals is an excellent way to help manage your fire. Also, having a dedicated fire poker, which can be just your standard stick. Use that to manipulate your flame. With a fire poker, you want to make sure that once you’ve used it in the fire it stays within the bounds of your fire ring as well, so that it’s safe for you and it that it won’t set the surrounding woods on fire. You also want to see where you’re fire is burning hotly and where it isn’t. You can adjust your flame, again, using a pointer stick, which when you’re done with you can just burn. You want to keep track of yourself and others when you’re moving around the fire, and make sure to keep things that you don’t want to burn or to be covered with a smokey smell away from your flame. Those are a few of the basics of campfire management. "
