"Ammunition comes in they will all in some way look like this for a shotgun but shotguns come in everything from 410 to a 20 gauge to a 12 gauge to a ten gauge and many in between. But they are all going to have a plastic casing like this that they used to be cardboard but inside this casing are wads to separate the bb's which are in here from the powder. Just as with the rifle you are going to have a primer that's hit by a firing pin which ignites the powder and lets the bb's fly. When you look at different ammunition this is a typical like clay pigeon round. It doesn't have much powder in it because you are only shooting close range clay pigeons. While duck hunting you'll have a three inch as opposed to a two and three quarter inch round which is able to hold more bb's and more powder and give you that longer range. Inside this are lead bb's which are heavier so they fly further and faster and hit harder. They can be used for all upland game hunting but while waterfowl hunting so that we are not contaminating our natural resources only steel shot is used."
