Hi, my name is Dan Schmidt from the Chinese Martial Arts Center and we're going to be showing you the Horse Stance. Okay, when starting you want to start feet together, hands on your hips. You want to step out with your right foot about one and a half time shoulder width. Okay, you want to start by bending the knees straight down, keep the buttocks tucked in, point the knees out. Okay, for more detailed explanation. Okay, if you noticed, you want to keep the shoulders in the back straight, keep the chin up, head erect. Okay, the knees, you don't want to point them straight, you want to point them off to the side at an angle. And you don't want the knees to go over the toe, you want them to come over on the side. Make sure that your toes point forward and the back is completely straight. You want to keep the buttocks tucked in, and the hips rolled in, okay, and your knees should form like a right angle. Okay. Shoulders straight, head up, okay, and if you turn this way, you'll notice, you want to keep the chest relaxed, but erect. You don't want to sink the chest in, you don't want to roll the shoulders back, just nice and natural and you can also point the elbows back for proper balance. Okay, from this stance, you can shift to many other stances. Okay. Like you could turn side to side. Okay. You could step one foot out the other direction, to another stance, okay and that's the Horse Stance.
