"Hi, my name is Dan Schmidt from the Chinese Martial Arts Center and today we're going to be showing you the combination, Side Punch, Reverse Punch. Okay, so you start feet together, fists to hip. Okay. The direction you want to go, okay, so in this case, we're going to the left. You want to step out with the left leg, and you want a side punch with the left hand. So your shoulders are straight across, your fist is in a straight line from your shoulder to the end of your knuckles. Okay. Your stances is in a Horse Stance, so you want your thighs parallel to the floor, toes straight. Now you want to shift to the Reverse Punch. So as you shift, you going to twist in a Bow, shift, block, and then punch with the rear hand into the Reverse Punch. Okay. Now you could see step out your Side Punch, okay, so shoulders are straight across, thighs are parallel to the floor, okay, then he performs the block as he shifts, so he leans slightly forward and then straightens out at the end. Okay. Then you have the Reverse Punch. Okay. If you noticed, the shoulders are twisted, so the punching shoulder is ahead of the rear shoulder. The hips are twisting forward. Okay. And you want to keep the back straight. Front thigh parallel to get the proper power. Okay. Now this is a combination, so when using it in fighting, okay, you can use it either as an attack or you can use it as a defensive measure. Okay, as an attack, if we were fighting, see I could go straight in trying to punch to the chest this way, okay, then he might want to retaliate and punch, here's where the sleeve block comes in. Sleeve block, and then I twist straight towards the target, punch here. Okay, it could be use defensive against his punch. So if he punches, you can block, punch straight in. Now with the same arm, okay, I can get it out of the way, so I can punch once, sleeve block, and then punch to another spot. You can also punch different spot. So if he punches again, okay, so you could block, punch low, then you could punch with the other hand, block, punch high. That's the combination, Side Punch, Reverse Punch."
