"Hi, my name is Dan Schmidt from the Chinese Martial Arts Center and today we're going to be showing you the proper Steel Stance. Okay, the Steel Stance, you want to start feet together, hands on your hips. You want to take the right leg, you want to step it out so your front foot is parallel in front of you. Okay. You want to bend forward and look back. If you notice, the front leg is parallel, okay, you want the back leg straight and you want to be on the ball of the foot with the heel pointing upwards. Okay. Now, it's very important that you turn and you look over the shoulder. Okay. Now, this stance is use for like the name, steeling a step. Okay. So somebody punches inward, okay, you can block, come around this way, hit to the back of the head. Now the back foot, okay, you can use it like a sweep, you can pull forward this way. Also it trains your legs for different advancing kicks. Okay. So, if I was fighting and his punching, okay, you block here, step behind and then apply kick from there. Okay. So it's steeling a step. Now that's the proper way to perform the Steel Stance."
