Hi, my name is Dan Schmidt from the Chinese Martial Arts Center. And today, we're going to be showing you the proper way to perform the Outside Crescent Kick. Okay, the way you perform this kick, is you want to start feet together, palms flat out to the side, fingers together, thumbs tucked in. Okay, you want to keep your shoulders straight across, from your shoulder all the way down to your fingertips. Okay, you're going to step out with your left leg, now, with your right foot, you're going to swing the leg across this way, with your toes pointing out and back. Okay, and your leg’s going to travel around up to the hand. Okay, when you do it fast, it looks like this. So you step, pick up the leg, kick out to the hand. So once again you're here, step, pick up the leg and kick. Okay, from this angle, it looks like this. So he steps out, keep the body steady, up and kick. Once again, step and kick. Okay, the reason why you hit the hand is the target gauge where you're kicking, also most importantly, you want to make the hand stronger, more firm. So you condition it by hitting the hand with the foot. Okay, some common applications, or if he throws a punch, okay, so with the front hand, okay, before it totally gets in, you can throw the kick, kick his hand away and then he's open up for other attacks such as punches, other kicks or whatever. Or, if he hooks high, come this way, you can kick and then follow-up straight in. Okay. And that is the way that you perform the Outside Crescent Kick.
