Hi, my name is Dan Schmidt from the Chinese Martial Arts Center. Today, we're going to be showing you the proper way to perform the Lateral Left Kick. Okay, so this kick, you want to start, okay, with your feet natural, about shoulder width apart and you want to start with your fist over head. Okay, you want to keep the back straight, the chest out, keep the arms bent directly over your head. Okay, from here, you're going to crossover with your rear leg, and you're going to be looking towards the direction that you're going. Okay. You're going to pick up your left leg, you're going to swing it straight up over head as this hand pulls straight down. Okay. It has to be completely straight when you pull. So you're here, you're going to crossover, swing the leg up and kick. You want to try to aim in the future to get your foot directly over your head. So here, step, swing. Okay, so from this angle, okay, so crossover, swing up the leg, pull the hand. Okay, it's very important that you pull the hand at the same time that you kick and you have to pull it directly straight down as if you're pulling on a rope. So once again, you crossover, swing, pull. Okay. And you want to make sure also that you pull the foot back flat. So like you're trying to kick your heel up to the ceiling. Okay. This kick is very good for flexibility and building leg strength and hip strength. Now, that's the proper way to perform the Lateral Left Kick.
