"Hi there. Now we are going to do half court layups. And basically what this does is it just, it is for conditioning. It spaces everything out and it just, sometimes as a player you take long layups, and sometimes as a player you go coast to coast. This is a conditioning drill pro basketball players do. The object is to go one layup, other side, two layup, other side, three layups, other side, four layups, other side, five layups, other side. And sometimes what we do is full court layups but let?s just break it down slowly so you can see. Here we go. Slow. Throw it out, go get it, dribble, cross, dribbling, layup. Throw it out. Go get it. Cross. Dribble. Throw it out. Go get it. Go get it. Throw it out. That is half court layups, and as you can see, the more you pick it up the more intense it gets. It is a great conditioning drill. When you have that down and pretty easy, you do five, you do ten. Then you open it up to full court, then you work on five layups full court. When you get that down pat you do full court layups and ten layups full court, at a decent speed, gets you ready gets your heart pumping. It is a great conditioning drill for all athletes but pro basketball players especially."
