"In this clip we're going to about how to actually to grip the Frisbee. To allow you to get that extra distance on your throw and a little bit more control. As generally with a larger catch Frisbee, people are more apt to put their finger on the outside of the rim. Which allows the bigger Frisbee to have a little bit more stability in the hand. However, with a golf disc your going to want to curve that finger underneath there. Personally, I liken it a lot to holding a pencil or a fork. Where your actually just using a soft loose pinch grip between your thumb and your index finger, and layer your other fingers underneath. So when you have it on the disc, you actually have your thumb outside the top, or just outside of the rim configuration. With your fingers layered underneath the bottom of the disc. What that does is that loosens the tendons through your wrist. You want the disc to roll straight out through the middle of your hand up your forearm. So it's basically straight through the middle of your forearm. That's going to allow the larger muscle groups in your shoulder and your hips as you actually turn to get the disc back to release it forward out in front of you. It's going to allow you to keep it a little more flat and possibly nose down. Because all Frisbees will have the tendency to rise if you're lifting your head up, it's going to allow the Frisbee to move up. So, basically throwing one of these higher tech golf discs, you're want to keep the nose down and parallel to the ground and release it straight out in front of you to allow it that initial propulsion forward towards the hole."

on 8/2/2008 This is a useful tip... I have been throwing "old school" hippie disc style and using my index finger on the rim. I cant wait to try the finger grip underneath.
