"Hi. This is Cole with Expert Village and I'm going to be talking about fins. There are many different styles of fins. Pretty much the most common are the blade styles, which are a stiffer fin. Another style that is quickly gaining in numbers is the split fin, which is where there's a big "V" shape right in the middle of the fin, coming almost down to where the foot is. Basically, the difference between the two is one...Blades, you kick harder, but you kick less often. With the split fins, you kick more often, but not as hard. So, different styles. Not really one is better than the other. Basically personal preference. I personally prefer the blade fins. I like big, slow, powerful kicks, whereas some people like the quick flutter kicks."
