"Now one stretch that we do like to use, and it's especially useful for sword work, just because your back and your lats are going to get very tight over a period of time, just, even from everyday use. In Yoga it's referred to as a "child's pose", or a "modified child's pose", but, hands out, relax, and breathe down. Now, if for some reason that doesn't work for you, if you just can't seem to get enough of a stretch out of it, on the back of a chair, I'll use the stool for right now. Put your hands on the stool, make sure that you're relatively about head level, physically push down on the stool using your back muscles. Try to push the stool into the ground. And as you do, breathe out, and relax, and then let go. Do it again from this position, push down, hold it for about five seconds, breathe out, and relax. Push down, relax, breathe out, and up. You'll find that that's especially helpful for sword work as well as a lot of the other techniques. Rolling, it will help pull out a few of the kinks as well."
