"I’m Chris Kelley and we are here with Expert Village. Another good thing is your suspension setup. All motor cross bikes have adjustable clickers on the forks and on the rear suspension. If two front forks up here and one rear suspension. There is a preload adjustment on the spring in the rear and there are screw adjustments. Look in your owner’s manual they will describe where they are. They are generally either on the top and bottom of the forks depending on the model of the bike and you can preset your compression and your rebound. Also with your shock you have a compression and rebound adjustment on that. On most motorcycles most brands consult your owner’s manual. If you do feel like the suspension is bottoming out you might need to turn up your compression a little bit or you might also need to adjust your spring preload and set the bike up to your ability. If you have a bike set up for you the wrong way you are going to have a very difficult time riding. Make sure that it is set up right. If you are a light rider and you purchased the bike off of somebody who is a larger person or a heavy individual, that bike is going to be set up with really harsh heavy suspension settings. So, you might need to tune those out. If you are a bigger guy and you got to have a bike you know that was ridden by someone smaller, their suspension settings might be different and maybe they never had them adjusted properly either. So, it is a good idea to read your owners manual, look at what you have, consult others on the track and get a feel of that. That is a good tip on keeping your suspension up to date and ready to go.
