Hi! I’m Calab Labarda of Tae Kwon Do Unlimited. Visit our website at tkdarizona.com. Alright, today I’m going to show about the bow. Okay, this is an ancient Korean weapon that was used, because back in ancient Asia or Korea… Weapons were outlawed in Korea, so then all the farmers had to reinvent themselves when they were getting attacked. They started turning ordinary things like your bow staff, which they used for…They would put water on each end and then walk bunch of miles and carry their water buckets. But when they started getting attacked, they decided to drop those buckets and turn to a bow staff. This is a good stick right here, but this is mostly for demonstration and practices. This one isn’t a real hard one for speed and competition, but it’ll still work. You could do different strikes, heads strikes…We can go to legs, under the chin. Then in the competition stuff we can get fancier. We can do throws; we can do chops, and it goes real fast. Okay that’s called modern style. Now, there’s also traditional style, where we get a lot of little stances. Hit…chop, hit, and strikes. Okay, both styles are used, but in Tae Kwon Do, we have put both of them together and made into a real fast and modern style. It looks really good.
