"Hi, this is Caleb Kelly again and we're talking about cleaning the upper half, of a AR-15, which includes the upper receiver and the barrel assembly. Now, to clean this, you can use a number of different things. You can use the long rods, to clean the barrel, or you can use, like I have, they're called barrel snakes or cords. Inside is the chamber, which some say, it needs a lot of attention on the AR-15 rifles because of the reliability issue. That's more of a opinion type thing, I would say, but to clean it, you can take a bore snake type, that has a brush on it, on the end of the cord. You simply drop this down the barrel, from this side, it goes out and you pull it through and as it's being pulled through, it cleans the barrel."
