"So the next two components of the Eddie turn we're going to talk about are the lean and pivot stroke. As long as you have the speed and angle right your going to get into the eddie, to make it nice crisp eddie turn using a good inside lean and a nice power pivot stroke will make the eddie turn really crisp. When your coming to an eddie changing to the downstream moving current the upstream eddie current and when you do that there's a tendency for the boat to want flip outside of the turn. In order to counteract that flip you need to lean to the inside of the turn just as if your riding a bike, you lean on the inside of the turn. In addition if you put in a good pivot stroke on the inside of the turn which is either a dufex stroke or gliding draw that will keep your boat moving toward the turn, it will locate the turn on a steady place and let your boat spend around the pivot stroke. So with a good lean and a good solid pivot stroke if you have good speed and good angle your eddie turn should be beautiful and feel really great, you can tell when you've done a really good one its a yahoooo moment."
