" Hi, this is Bruce Lessels from Zoar Outdoor on behalf of expertvillage.com, talking about choosing and setting up a campsite. How much space do you need for your campsite? Depends on how many tents you have, how many people you have with you. But generally one tent takes up about anywhere from 6x8 to about 10x20 feet depending on how large the tent is and how many people it’ll sleep. These are two person tents and they probably each take up about the size of a 4x8 foot sheet of plywood, so 4x8 feet or so per tent, but then you want to be able to space the tents comfortably apart. You also want to have an eating area and a dinning area that’s separate from the sleeping area and there are a couple reasons for that. One reason is that you want to have the flame and any sort of fire going on away from the tents because tents are flammable and you don’t want to invite disaster there. You also want to have an eating area that’s away from the tents, especially because if animals choose to come they usually are attractive to the eating area and to the food smells and you don’t want to be sleeping near where animals might becoming and scavenging or where other problem animals might be in the evening. So choose the size of your campsite depending on the size of your party and your particular needs."
