" Hi, this is Bruce Lessels from Zoar Outdoor on behalf of expertvillage.com, talking about low impact camping methods. So where there’s a campsite there’s often wildlife and ideally we’re going to make every effort we can not to attract wildlife it can become a nuisance. But you’re in the woods so there may be a wildlife that just naturally occurred nearby that campsite. These are some either rubbings or chewing’s from a deer on this tree and maybe possibly that one right over there. We’re going to try and be really careful, really quiet and not disturb the animals. A lot of animals have habitual tracks that they take through the woods to find water or to find food and those are animal trails that are sometimes fairly obvious through the woods. Some of these even appear to be like human trails are actually well worn and used by lots of different animals repeatedly again and again. You don’t want to camp near those trails or disturb those trails or even use those trials for hiking because those trails are places that the animals feel comfortable, feel safe getting down to their water source or to their food source and if you impact those trails and prevent them from doing that you can have a major impact on their survive ability and their comfort in that area where you were staying. So be careful with animals, enjoy watching them, enjoy looking for their sign but be low impact."
