" Welcome back, this is Brian on behalf of expertvillage.com. The next step in setting up your tent, as you see here, is to actually string the rods through to give the tent its shape and hold it open providing adequate sleeping area. That’s very simple to do on a dome style tent. Flaps, such as these, have been sewn into the sides of the tent actually to carry the rods and hold the tent out against them. To start erecting the tent, you simply insert the rods into those channels and push through. Now we start the other side. Immediately across from the channel, that the rod is now in will be another one for the other side. Go ahead, and slip it through from the top, on both sides. Simply guide the rods through. If you need to, you can do like I’m doing here and take out the slack from the tent material to allow the rod to slide through the channel. After you get the rods all the way through the tent material, stretch it back out again if you need it to fold the side in, in order to gain access to the middle. That will help out the next step, where we actually use the rods or we actually put the rods into the appropriate place on the tent to raise it. That’s how you string the rods through."
