"Where you going to put the pole on your pack? If you have a hiking pole and you have a time you may not want to use it because you need to use your hands more in a climbing scrambling situation well you to take the pole and put it up in your back pack. If you have a staff that?s kind of hard to do cause there one fixed length big heavy piece of wood. Poles are nice because they can become more compact. This on here bungee corded together becomes very small and you can actually fir it inside the pack. Some larger poles like this one sometimes people will use the ice ax loops on a pack. There is a little loop at the bottom. Customers always ask what those are for. Basically what you do is stick the handle inside there twist it around a couple of times. Stick it up and lash it to the pack and it will stay there until you need it. If you have any questions about poles and how to take care of them give your local outfitter a holler."
