"Hi! This is Ben Jordan from expertvillage.com. I am here to talk to you about how to give your bike a check up before you ride. What I am going to do is go over 4 simple, safety points that you can do to make sure that the most common problems that you will encounter during bicycling don't happen while you are riding. First thing you need to do is check your wheels and make sure they are securely tightened onto your bike. This can be done by using a simple wrench and attaching this onto the wheel, open it up, put it over the wheel and turn. Make sure both of these on the back as well as the front, are tightened properly. Next, check your tires to see if they are full of air. Simply squeeze your tires and see if they are flatter than they should be when you want to ride. Check your tire or inner tube to see what the proper PSI or pressure of your tires are supposed to be and fill it if it needs filling. Next make sure that your handles bars are secure and that your brakes work properly. Check both your front and rear brakes to make sure that they are going to allow you to stop within a good distance but not too loose. Lastly, make sure that your pedals are moving properly and there is not odd noise when you are biking. "
