"This is a synthetic sleeping bag. It's a very popular type of bag for a number of reasons. One, it's less expensive than a down bag. Two, it's a little more forgiving. When it gets wet it still retains some of its insulating properties. What synthetic is, it's basically a hollow, well usually a hollow polyester fiber and they make a bunch of different types of synthetic feels, but essentially what they're doing is they are trying to simulate the compressibility and lightness of down. The higher end synthetics can pack down a little smaller. So when you're looking at a sleeping bag a lot of people will look at the price tag and one thing the price tag will tell you is what kind of fill it's using. The lower the price the lower end fill, the more heavy. The higher the price, the higher end fill. It's going to be, it's going to be more compressible, it's going to be lighter. If you have any questions definitely ask your local outfitter. That's what they're there for."
