"In this section, I'm going to be teaching you how to slide a basic box. Similar to snow boarding, skiers have been sliding boxes and rails and doing tricks and jumps, so it's really important to know how to properly do it and how to properly have your body positioned, so you don't slip out and get hurt, and then make it as much fun as possible. So, when you're going up to the box. you want to make sure that your stance is low and your hands are out in front, similar to how the way that you made a proper snow skiing turn, or similar to the way that you were hitting jumps. Now when you're going up to the box, it's important not to hit it going forward, and then turn sideways; you want to actually go and hop 90 degrees, landing with your weight evenly distributed on your front ski and your back ski. If your weight isn't evenly distributed on your front ski and your back ski, you're either going to catch your front edge, or slip out in the back. So, you really, really want to focus on just landing, flat-based on the skis, no edges out like this, no edges forward like this, but really flat-based. Then, you want to slide the whole direction of the box. To help with that, it really helps to look at the very end of the rail of the box, like you're sliding. It's going to make it so you're focusing on that, not focusing on what your feet are doing; you're actually focusing on sliding to the end of it. Once you get to the end of the box, you're going to want to do the exact opposite of what you did when you hopped onto it. You just want to hop 90 degrees back this way, so you can land forward, and ride it out. Okay, so now we're actually going to be sliding the box. I'll walk you through as I'm actually on the box and sliding. What you're supposed to do, just make sure that you keep your weight balanced throughout, so you don't slip out, or catch your front edge. We're going to' hop sideways...and then hop regular again."
