"Hi, I'm Bobby Larew, talking about diving right now. We're doing an inward dive. I just showed you the right position for take off in both inward dive, and inward one and a half. Right now we're just spending time on the inward dive. What does a good inward pike look like, and how do you do it? As you push up off the board, remember our arms are up, slightly in front of us, our body is slightly in front of us. A good inward pike starts with good hips. When you push off the board, you don't want your hips to go back and down to the water. I always tell my divers when they do that, I'm like, 'Who are you trying to impress by sticking your butt out, because no one's watching.' So make sure you're not just sticking your butt out. You want to actually take the hips and push and you want to lift them up. Lift them up, not push them back. From there the arms are coming down in front of us to touch our toes. The head is going to be down into the pike, the feet should be together, the toes should be pointed. All the while the hips are continuing, we're going to pretend that these are my hips right now, my hips are continuing to travel up into the air, so that I can get a nice, tight pike. And that's what you should look like in a pike."
