"Hi I'm Andrew Bridden here on behalf of expertvillage.com I'm at the Arizona Center of Mixed Martial Arts here demonstrating techniques are going to be Robert Garcia to right he is our head Muay Thai instructor and Sonny Diaz on my left. The technique that they are demonstrating is how to properly defend punches by ducking under them. Know it should be noted that this isn't a traditional Muay Thai technique however, because the emphasis of the school is mix martial arts we apply all martial arts together and the most effect aspects of each martial art. So this is more of a western boxing technique that we find very officiant in the mixed martial arts. Again it is not traditional Muay Thai. How this is done is pretty simple. Rob just ducks under the punch as it comes in. You could go either right or left. Now Rob is a sound pod so he is standing with his right foot forward however this works equally effective if he where a normal stance with his left foot forward. So it is the same exact same thing and the nice thing about this technique is that when he ducks under the punch it changes the angle of the fighters and it opens him up for some offenses of counter strike capability so as he ducks he has body shots, knees, it leaves him open for a very venerable for attack. So a fighter that could become proficiency at this defending punches has a lot of opportunities to counter attack his opponent. "
