"ALVIN DEDEAUX: Okay, another nice thing to have, not an essential by any means, is a pair of binoculars. You know, there's all kinds of birds and wildlife and stuff out there that you might want to check out with your binoculars. The other thing is too if you're fishing on a lake or saltwater somewhere you might be looking for a flock of birds that are diving down on some bait fish that the fish have driven to the surface. Another essential item I'd say, especially for warmer climates and fair-skinned folks, would be sunscreen too. Definitely you want to have some sunscreen on hand in your bag and they actually make sunscreen now for fly fisherman so that the sunscreen doesn't affect the coating on your fly line."
