"ALVIN DEDEAUX: So what we're doing with that loading move, basically, is getting this rod tip to where it's stiffened up so we can do the next part of our cast. The rod tip is very flexible, but once we apply some load to it, you know, by pulling it off the water, it's going to stiffen that thing up quite a bit. So that's going to prepare it for the next part of the cast. So you know, we're just using the weight of the line and the water to get that rod to stiffen up either when we're doing our back cast or when we're doing our forward cast. So the first part of that loading move is basically just getting that rod tip to bend down and to stiffen that rod up so that we can do the second part of the cast, like so."
