"So once again, if you don't want to try to tie this really complicated Blood Knot, you can always do the Surgeon's Knot; much easier. Take your two materials we're going to tie together, overlap them, put an overhand knot right in the middle of that connection, like so, go back through that connection again, pull them tight. Works great for monofilament to monofilament, backing to backing, and the only difference is that it's a little bit bulkier and it will put sometimes just a little kink in it compared to the Blood Knot. But it's a lot easier to tie. Let's try that one again. So here's my leader, there's my tippet, and I'm going to do a Surgeon's Knot. Go overhand knot, pull it through, one more overhand knot, pull it through, looks like that, tighten it up, pull the long ends, pull the short ends, then you're done. Very simple and very effective."
