"So here we go with our Blood Knot again, tying two pieces of backing together. We're going to cross them, and we're going to take the first piece, wrap it around this standing end, one, two, three, four times, and then we put it back through where they crossed. We take the other piece, wrap it around the other standing end, one, two, three, four times. And then we're going to poke it through and make sure it goes the other direction. So we're poking it through where the first piece went. So now they're pointing in opposite directions and we pull it tight. When it's finished, it should look something like that. You can clip that off nice and close, clip those tag ends off. And the nice thing about the Blood Knot is that it's a straight on connection. When you do it right, the two pieces of line are coming out like this. Some of your other connections will put a little bit of kink in it, but that Blood Knot will always make it nice and straight. So that's a good use for the Blood Knot, when you need to make a nice straight connection."
