"The next topic we are going to cover is general safety and ways to keep yourself out of bad situations while running. Two of the ways you can do that are to run on a track or run on a treadmill because they are controlled environments that keep you away from the dangers of running on the road. However if you do decide to run on the road something to keep in mind would be to wear clothing that allows you to be visible, something like this or the yellow loud colors. If you decide to run at dusk or at dawn or any time when there is not a lot of sun light something with reflective properties on it. A lot of clothing and a lot of different things for running have reflective strips on it so motorists can see you. Another thing to keep in mind is to run with the traffic if you are running on the side walk because motorists are going to be looking at the traffic coming their direction when they are pulling out of streets, shopping centers, their drive way. They are going to be looking the direction the traffic is coming first and foremost. That allows you to be visible and stay out of an accident with a motorist."
