Video Transcript

"Hi my name is Glen Moore, and I'm here today to talk about running on behalf of Expert Village. I've been running for about 14 years, I compete in triathlons, I've ran marathons, half marathons, Ironmans, half Ironmans. So I have a little bit of experience running. One of the first concepts you need to understand for running is the right type of apparel they have. One of the basic rules to follow is just to avoid cotton. That's cotton socks, underwear, shirts, shorts, because in hot weather cotton doesn't breathe as well as other fabrics and it holds water so it will get heavy the longer you run. In cooler weather it doesn't breathe so it keeps you warm, but then once you get wet, you get soaked and you get cold. So the ideal thing to do is to look for dry fit type fabrics. As you can see I have on a dry fit hat so it breathes and lets heat escape my head. I have on sunglasses because it's a bright, sunny day. I have on a long sleeve dry fit shirt on, loose shorts, compression shorts that are not made of cotton, and my socks are not cotton either. That's what you are aiming for when you're looking for apparel for running. "
