"In otita todosina or extended mountain pose a block can be really helpful to bring your spine into correct alignment. So we're going to have Faith demonstrate this for us right now. I'm going to ask Faith to take the block and place it right in between her thighs. Now she's going to squeeze the block together. Notice that, that block allows her feet to be hip widths distance apart. That the toes are slightly in and her heels are slightly out so the sides of the feet are parallel to the mat. She's squeezing her shins into her calves. And internally rotating her thighs to squeeze onto that block. This is going to help rotate her sacrum down especially as she draws her belly button in. So the sacrum widens. She's then going to lengthen out through both sides of her waist and reach her arms up over the sky, dropping her shoulder blades down and then pressing her palms towards each other. So we could also actually place a block in between Faith's hands to make sure that her arms are lengthened and straight and then she could press the block her hands toward each other. So she's engaging both her legs and her arms."
