"Hi, I'm Dr. Garrett Smith with Expert Village. The exercise we're about to go into now is called a king deadlift. Basically, if you know what a pistol is or a one legged squat, it's going to be our weight's going to be in the opposite direction. What it looks like. It's another one legged exercise so obviously you have to have the balance to be on one leg. What we're going to do, instead of a pistol or a one legged squat where we have the leg out in front, is the leg's going to be behind us. We're going to have to put ourselves in a different position. Arms are going to be up for balance. The goal on the down part, we're going to go down until the knee touches the ground, and then come back up. Again, you need the balance to do this. Shifting around on your balance is OKay, we just don't want to fall. Again, down to touch the knee and then back up. Form points on this. Again, like always, we want the knee to track over the foot. Even on that third one, there, I was having a little bit of knee in. You want to figure out how to set yourself up and get strong enough in the preceding exercises that that doesn't happen. King deadlift, it's kind of the opposite positioning of a pistol like we said, instead of the leg in front it's in back, is a great exercise for the quadriceps, really working it hard while you're in balance. So much of our lives is balancing on one leg. Walking is just going from one leg to the other. Running, one leg to the other. Most of the time, we lift something, if you think about it more of your weight's on one side than the other. Really, make sure to work on your one leg stuff. That's the king deadlift. "
