"GINA KENNEDY: Janu Sirsasana is a great way to activate the sympathetic nervous system and open your heart chakra. Janu Sirsasana means head to knee pose. So, we're going to have Faith just extend her legs out on the diagonal. Good. Notice how she's exceeded nice and tall, rooting her tail bone down into the earth and reaching up to the crown of her head. Good. She's going to take her right foot and bend her knee and bring the sole of her foot into her left thigh. Good. Now, ideally your knee is going to come all the way down to the ground. But if it doesn't, we're going to just place that foot on the block which is going to allow her to press her knee down by pressing into her heel. There we go. And press the knee down. Good. She's going to inhale and lengthen up, and then, she's going to exhale and extend her spine forward. Good. Drawing her belly in and reaching her arms forward. Good. To keep a nice, long spine. Notice how her spine is long and not rounded. Go ahead and round your spine. So, we don't want to come down. Notice the knee pose, right. We want to lengthen through the spine and reach the crown of the head towards the foot. Good. If she presses into the earth with her hand, she can inhale and lengthen, and then, exhale and draw herself down deeper towards her knee. Good. All the while pressing her knee out to the side, head to knee pose."
