"GINA KENNEDY: Faith is going to help me demonstrate Supta Padangsthasana, or the lying big toe pose. So, we're going to ask Faith to lay down and extend her legs out. Good. And we're going to use the strap for this one. So, Faith is going to inhale and bring her knee into her chest. Good. And she's going to take the strap in both hands and just loop it around her foot. Good. Good. Now, she's going to extend her leg up to the sky. Good. This is going to stretch through her hamstring. Good. And she's going to use the strap just as extensions on her arms, just makes her arms a little bit longer so she can reach up to that foot. Good. And then maybe even draw the leg in closer to her chest. Good. And now, Faith is going to take the strap into her left hand. Good. And she's going to draw her leg out to the side. So, her leg may not go all the way down. So, what we're going to do is place the block right under her leg, and that's going to allow her to open that leg up. Good. Without having it fall all the way to the ground. She's going to take her right hand to her hip and just press that hip down because what we don't want to do is let the hip or the shoulder roll up. So, we want her to flex through her right foot and engage through her right thigh. And that gives her something to work off of. And then, she can begin to use her breath to allow her leg to open up a little bit deeper. And she might find that after she holds this pose for a few moments, that she may be able to then move the block down just a little bit and come down even a little bit lower 'cause if you give your muscles time, they are going to open up for you."
